Up until almost a decade ago, a theatre festival, Going Solo celebrate one-person performances in India and the UK , bringing together compelling narratives and solo acts on stage. And while this particular festival is no longer active, the hunger to create solo full length shows, and the appetite for consuming these performances is far from satiated. As audiences, what is it about a solo show that keeps us hooked? Maybe it's the imaginative use of space and form, or maybe it's just the connection being directly spoken to evokes.
For this month's photo essay, we thought we'd take a close look at 3 solo performances, and while there were many to choose from, we settled on 3 that had been performed at the same venue, a year apart from each other, at the same youth theatre festival, by 3 different women.
